Birkenwerder, 11 May 2021 – The Brandenburg-based startup Agrimand offers the first digital and independent trading platform - combined for agricultural inputs and arable products. State-of-the-art cloud technology and simplified processes save users time and money.

The seed financing round is led by Brandenburg Kapital, a subsidiary of the Brandenburg development bank ILB, and also includes a private Hamburg investor and the BACB investment company. Together with renowned business angels, they are investing a seven-figure sum in Agrimand. In addition to the experienced founding team, the investors were impressed by the combination of the deep understanding of modern agriculture and the professional approach to digitalized process optimization. Agrimand has the potential to decisively advance the European agricultural sector in structural change on its way to digitalization.

"We have invested in Agrimand because we expect a profound structural change in the agricultural market. Agrimand will provide app-based services to farmers and land traders in order to successfully meet the associated challenges," adds Thilo Neu, Senior Investment Manager at Brandenburg Kapital.

Founding partner Lars Lehmann (Agrimand CEO) grew up in agriculture. He has gained extensive experience at the trading, supplier and processing levels. Jens Schmidt (Agrimand CFO) has worked for various agricultural traders in commercial management positions.

Agrimand is open to all professional players in the sector. Users can individually tender their requirements for agricultural inputs, such as seed, fertilizer and crop protection, via the new platform with very little effort. The same applies to the sale of grains and oilseeds. The aim of Agrimand is to establish the largest European agricultural trade network in which regional farmers are directly involved. This will sustainably optimize supply chains and shorten processes. The concept ensures equal opportunities and saves users a lot of time and money.

Agriculture is one of the most important global markets. In Germany alone, there are over 260,000 farms. The agricultural sector is one of the most important markets in Germany with

over 52 billion euros. "Agriculture is in a state of flux, process digitalization is only just beginning, but is now getting underway with this new portal," says Lars Lehmann. Agrimand will focus on all important agricultural trade regions in the future.
