IMS Messsysteme Acquires a Stake in SECOPTA and Strengthens Its Position in Materials Analysis
Potsdam/Teltow, August 2026 - SECOPTA analytics GmbH, a Brandenburg-based portfolio company of Brandenburg Kapital, has secured a strategic partner in IMS Messsysteme GmbH. Effective June 26, 2026, the world's leading provider of high-precision measurement and inspection systems has acquired a stake in SECOPTA. Going forward, the company will operate under the name IMS Secopta GmbH.
Through this partnership, IMS and SECOPTA are combining their expertise in high-precision measurement and sensor technology as well as laser-based materials analysis.
The rationale behind the investment is the rising demand for precise analytical solutions for recycling processes and the growing importance of scrap as a raw material for electric steel production. With this investment, IMS is expanding its offerings in automated material analysis, while SECOPTA benefits from IMS's international market presence and global service network.
