Frankfurt (Oder) – December 2023. Frankfurt (Oder)-based asgoodasnew electronics GmbH, the pioneer of the German refurbishment sector and part of the Brandenburg Kapital portfolio since 2012, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. One of its next goals is clearly in focus: The company wants to become the market leader in Europe with its "Re-Made in Germany" approach.

In November 2008, asgoodasnew - then known as "asgoodas.nu GmbH" - was the first company to enter the German refurbishment sector. At the same time, the online platform "wirkaufens" was launched, where users can sell their used devices. In so doing, the company gave the starting signal for refurbished electronics "Re-Made in Germany". Since then, it has been on course for success. With yearly double-digit growth rates, the turnover level has been over 120 million euros as of 31.12.2022.

The company plans to expand into other countries in the coming years: The company based in Markendorf - Frankfurt (Oder) has big plans for the future. According to Stefan Groitl, the aim is to triple turnover in four years. The Managing Director talks about a planned automated production line at the current site. But it is not only machines that are to take on additional tasks - new employees will also be hired in the future as part of the expansion. According to Stefan Groitl, the expansion plans are not possible in terms of space in the current building alone. However, there are possibilities in the neighborhood. His colleague Tim Seewöster is convinced: "We will grow twice as fast as the classic e-commerce market, because ‘refurb’ is the new ‘organic’". There are now many suppliers on the market - but they are not afraid of the competition in Markendorf. In everyday life, they are always looking to see which product groups are interesting for their business model, says Stefan Groitl.
