Brandenburg Kapital - News About Hypatos GmbH

The Potsdam-based start-up Hypatos wants to create a future in which artificial intelligence accelerates business processes and enables people to make decisions and develop innovative solutions.

Potsdam, February 2024 - Hypatos, a leading provider of software solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate back-office processes, is using AI to further develop its document understanding software. Hypatos can be used to process financial documents of all kinds - from invoices, travel and expense reports and loan applications to the automated processing of insurance claims.

To automate processes such as the autonomous processing of financial documents, Managing Director Dr. Ulrich Erxleben and his team are using AI to understand speech and text and are promoting machine learning from customers' accounting data. Hypatos is also witnessing an ever-increasing shortage of skilled workers in Germany. Accountants in companies are often close to retirement age and younger replacements are rare. This is where the automated processing of financial documents fills any gaps that arise. Hypatos also supports ESG reporting, which is becoming increasingly more important for companies.

Recognizing Hypatos' potential, well-known venture capital funds have invested in the company over time, including Brandenburg Kapital, which has been supporting the company since it was founded in 2019. Hypatos aims to raise further funds for the company's growth in 2024. "The development of AI technology is very expensive," says Ullrich Erxleben. In doing so, he continues to rely on international and German venture capitalists as well as public institutions."
