ROBOVIS secures a seven-figure investment to propel AI breakthrough in dynamic manufacturing environments.

ROBOVIS, a leading robotics and machine vision company, has announced the successful closing of a seven-figure initial funding round.

Potsdam, 20. November 2024 – ROBOVIS, a leading robotics and machine vision company, has announced the successful closing of a seven-figure initial funding round.

The funding round was led by Brandenburg Kapital (Potsdam, Germany), subsidiary of Brandenburger Förderbank ILB and supported by PRO Sunflower GmbH.

ROBOVIS is dedicated to helping manufacturers maximize productivity and efficiency with its advance AI-powered platform. ROBOVIS’ solutions fall into three key categories:

1) Inline inspection for high-speed production to detect quality defects, ensure high-quality output and reduce waste - for example, in glass, automotive and metal production.

2) Automation using computer vision and machine sensing for industrial manufacturing and logistics, enabling robotic arms to sort, position and assemble components with extreme precision.

3) Industrial safety and tracking systems for dynamic environments to detect hazards, track vehicles and products and prevent accidents in production.

ROBOVIS’ uniqueness lies in the state-of-the-art integration of advanced image processing and robotics technologies, ensuring robust performance and unparalleled precision. Unlike many solutions, which struggle to maintain consistent quality due to the inherent complexity and variability of industrial environments, ROBOVIS delivers AI-powered systems capable of adapting to the dynamic and diverse nature of industrial applications.

The ability to provide highly precise data for decision-making sets its platform, PMS 4.0, apart from others in the market. PMS 4.0, enables easy customization, allowing users to build tailored AI models without AI expertise, which accelerates deployment and supports rapid adaptation to new challenges and opportunities.

ROBOVIS has earned the trust of numerous customers across the USA, Europe, and Asia, including market leaders in the glass, automotive, and metal production and distribution sectors, such as Guardian Glass, SRG Global, VW, Stellantis, Ford, Tyco Connectivity, Samsung, Georgia Pacific, Roche, and many more. Its solutions have enabled these companies to significantly reduce expenses and maximize operational efficiency without requiring new production line investments.

ROBOVIS is founded and led by Dr. Okan Agbuga, who brings over 20 years of experience in industrial robotics, machine vision, and factory automation. As a CTO and an inventor of patented methods for automated inspection, Dr. Agbuga has successfully guided three robotics and machine vision ventures from inception to acquisitions valued up to a billion-euro level.

"We are thrilled with the confidence and support from our investors," said Dr. Okan Agbuga, co-founder and CEO of ROBOVIS. "This funding will enable us to globalize our AI-Powered 3D and 2D Machine Vision Systems and introduce NodeSpace, a commercially viable and innovative AI-based industrial safety and tracking system designed to revolutionize industrial standards and operational efficiency, as well as to expand our customer base in the USA and Asia."

Binh Vu, Investment Manager at Brandenburg Kapital, said: "Quality control and safety solutions currently available on the market lag behind the high-speed demands of manufacturing and logistics, creating critical inefficiencies and heightened risks. ROBOVIS' technology closes this gap by seamlessly integrating AI-based quality control and safety with high-speed production operations. Our investment in ROBOVIS is driven by the enormous market opportunity, the team’s exceptional execution, and their proven customer value proposition."

The management of PRO Sunflower commented: “We are delighted about the successful investment in ROBOVIS GmbH. With Dr. Agbuga, we were able to get to know a strong entrepreneurial personality. We trust the young company and its committed team to achieve above-average development under Dr. Agbuga's leadership.”
