Potsdam, 19 May 2025 – The Potsdam-based B2B SaaS start-up koppla has received six million euros to revolutionize scheduling in the construction industry. The digital solution helps general contractors, general planners, and architects keep their schedules under control and manage construction projects efficiently. Thanks to the funding, koppla will be able to accelerate product development, sales, and marketing activities and expand its team to meet the growing demands of the industry. The vision is to make koppla accessible to even more companies and to enable simple and holistic scheduling for the entire construction industry.
The investment is in keeping with the spirit of the times: specialist tools in construction are on the rise – alongside koppla, numerous other start-ups have also received funding in recent months and are bringing the necessary momentum to the construction industry.
“The funding brings us closer to our vision of developing a simple and holistic scheduling solution for the construction industry,” said Marco Trippler, Managing Director and co-founder of koppla. "We are seeing strong demand for solutions that simplify the scheduling and management of construction projects and replace outdated tools. With the new funds, we can continue to expand our team and advance the product," adds co-founder Lasse Steffen.
Strong partners for a strong vision
The financing round is led by venture capital firm Newion, which not only provides capital but also strategic expertise in scaling B2B SaaS solutions. In addition to Newion, Brandenburg Kapital and four experienced business angels are also participating and bringing their extensive industry expertise to the partnership: Martin Rodeck, Thorsten Krauß, Ingo Holz and Andreas Beckmann are all experts in the construction and real estate industry and understand the challenges and opportunities of the sector firsthand.
"Conventional scheduling tools cannot be used in real time and encourage silo thinking. (Project) management makes costly decisions based on outdated and therefore incorrect scheduling information, e.g. regarding the designation or postponement of handover or opening dates. koppla puts an end to this and offers a schedule that is easy to use, adapts to conditions on the construction site in real time and connects all companies involved—a real added value for every project and for the entire construction industry. I am pleased to support the motivated koppla team on their journey," says Martin Rodeck about his investment.
Confidence of existing investors underscores potential
Existing investors Earlybird, Coparion and the HPI Seed Fund, launched by SAP founder Hasso Plattner, are also continuing to place their trust in koppla and are once again participating in the financing round. This confirms not only the relevance of the scheduling software, but also the enormous potential of the company: "We have invested in koppla because the solution addresses key customer problems. The construction industry is under enormous pressure to modernize and is ripe for change – koppla has a deep understanding of the industry and helps companies with an intuitive, collaborative solution that is precisely tailored to their needs," said Leopold Lindner of Newion.
Expansion to even more projects
Since its founding in 2020, koppla has already acquired over 100 well-known customers, including Implenia, Max Bögl and Leonhard Weiss. The software is designed to be easy to use and supports construction companies in all project phases – from planning to execution. With the current financing, koppla aims to further increase the number of ongoing projects, which currently stands at over 600, and realize its vision of holistically mapping construction scheduling in a central tool.
