Around 300 Brandenburg companies supported with equity and subordinated loans
Potsdam – 13 March 2024. A great evening dedicated to '30 years of equity business in Brandenburg'. On 7 March, the host Brandenburg Kapital celebrated this remarkable anniversary with over 150 invited guests from politics and business together with investors and the current portfolio of Brandenburg Kapital GmbH at the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg - the investment bank of the state of Brandenburg.
The anniversary celebration was opened by ILB Chairman of the Board Tillmann Stenger and Brandenburg's Minister of Economic Affairs, Prof. Jörg Steinbach. In addition to a panel discussion, there was an exciting outlook on the future of equity financing in Brandenburg. Selected companies from the region were also able to take part, benefiting above all from the networking opportunities of the evening.
Thirty years of equity capital in the region - especially young and innovative companies that want to launch new products or services on the market in the foreseeable future and need capital to do so can benefit from this and private investors have the opportunity to invest in innovative start-ups and Brandenburg companies. This helps to the commitment of capital in the state of Brandenburg and to shape sustainable and innovative development, even beyond the start-up phase of companies in the state of Brandenburg. With the new equity fund, ILB is consolidating the offering of its subsidiary, Brandenburg Kapital, and plans to finance a further 60 start-ups as well as established small and medium-sized enterprises in the near future.

About Brandenburg Kapital/ILB
Brandenburg Kapital GmbH is a subsidiary of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB). As the venture capital arm of ILB, it has been supporting Brandenburg companies since 1993 by acquiring equity and quasi-equity investments. As a public venture capital company, experienced lead investor and active partner, Brandenburg Kapital ensures a strong equity base for start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises in the State of Brandenburg on the basis of a stable group environment.
The equity fund, which currently amounts to around 100 million euros, is available for this purpose. The funds for the equity fund, which was set up on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, are currently provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and ILB's own funds.
