REWE adds my CoffeeCup organic coffee capsules to its selection

Start TV campaign for compostable organic coffee capsules without aluminium and plastic.


Frankfurt (Oder), May 17, 2019 – REWE is now offering its customers first-class organic coffee from My CoffeeCup in sustainable organic capsules in all of the more than 3,600 REWE supermarkets.

My CoffeeCup, a brand of the coffee and tea manufacturer Unicaps, will launch a large-scale TV campaign starting in 2019 with the slogan: "Stop Alu! Stop plastic!" The aim of the campaign is to convince as many people as possible that the best coffee can be enjoyed at the touch of a button, even without the classic coffee capsule made of plastic and aluminium. The majority of the capsules consists of renewable raw materials, are compostable and contribute to a reduction of CO2 and waste.

Brandenburg Kapital GmbH, a subsidiary of the Brandenburg development bank ILB, has been supporting the company since 2017 with financing from its Seed and Growth Fund.

Unicaps GmbH is a certified organic technology company based in Frankfurt (Oder), which produces organic coffee and tea drinks in compostable capsules without aluminium and plastic for machines of the Nespresso®* and Nescafé®*-Dolce Gusto®* systems and distributes them throughout Europe from its own online shop, via Amazon, as well as at stationary supermarkets and drugstores, such as Kaufland and dm-Drogerie. Unicaps was founded in 2016 and currently employs around 20 people.
